Coolest good fortune!

I recently used a website called GoodFortuneCookies.Com.   I ordered fortune cookies for a promotion we are doing in the store, AND I ordered fortune cookies for my sister's wedding reception.  They let you personalize the fortune cookies (up to 17 different fortunes).  I did 17 different "love" quotes for my sister, and they turned out ADORABLE.  But get this...for 300 fortune cookies, it was $40 (plus $15 shipping).  So for $55, they sent me 300 fortune cookies, within a WEEK (honestly, they really did ship 24 hours after I ordered, I was absolutely amazed).  The cookies tasted great, and they are individually wrapped in clear plastic so they are easy to pack up for gifts or to hand out etc. 

Today I re-ordered because we didn't order enough for the store, and the man who answered the phone remembered my order, was super helpful, and said he'd ship them out tomorrow.  Seriously, this place is amazing.   He explained that they make the cookies there,  and that is why they can do it so quickly, and so inexpensively.   Anyway, thought I would pass this on to you all, because it is a great site, and a super cute idea (I've been thinking about all the cute ways you could use this...party favor for a birthday,  a cool Chinese dinner party, corporate event, or even just to have a fun cookie at home that -my kids get a huge kick out of them....).  Signed, ME {lv}

My love for wall decals...

seems infinite, no matter how overly popular they are becoming.  I have always loved the Inke Heiland ones that we have at the shop...

the fact that they're vintage wallpaper, oversized and fantastic colorways, all good things.  The ONLY thing that keeps me from getting one of those is the fact that we rent our place, and I don't think my landlord would appreciate the wall art as much as I do when we move out.  So, in the meantime, I'm lusting after these by Mae on etsy.  They're fabric, removable, reusable, and washable!  I love the woodland theme... the tree with the owls, fawn, oh and the toadstools are quite adorable as well.

nesting...

And so it has begun... my little house is getting all cleaned up and ready to go so that when my little one arrives she can mess it all back up again from scratch.  I've gathered all the little odds and ends that I think I might need to make life a little easier and so now I'm left to think about frivolous things like... where can I find a cute photo album to put all her pictures in??

I've always been a fan of these, by Aspinal of London.  I love that I could collect different colors for each year, I think that would be so adorable to have them all lined up on a book shelf. The outside is a gorgeous suede and the inside pages are plain so I could use photo corners to hold everything in place. Only downside is that they're a little spendy.

Second idea is more up-to-date (and maybe less time consuming) to do a digital photo album... they have loads of these online, but this one by mypulisher.com is the one I would proabably go for, LV's hubby got her one for mother's day and so the quality has been approved.  I like the layout options and the modern feel that the book takes on.

 

Alas, if I had all the money in the world (and time) I'd probably do both... but I think I just need to decide, hmmmmm...  signed, me {CA}

I don't needle point, but I might start!

A friend forwarded this to me the other day and I have kept it up on my computer ever since because despite the fact I've NEVER done needlepoint....I'm seriously thinking I might try it!  These are the coolest graphics I've ever seen for needlepoint and might actually inspire me to be a little crafy.   Check out Sublime Stitching it is a really cool site!  Signed, ME {lv} 

Living Large...

Everytime we go to the doc's to get baby girl checked on, I immediately search for this old issue of Elle Decor they have in the waiting room...  it has a full story on Nanette Lepore's NY townhouse designed by Jonathan Adler... and I sit there and drool while we wait for them to call my name.  True eye candy, especially that 'dressing room' of hers, I also love her daughter's room... what a cool bed.  signed, me {CA}

      

 

The Official Office of the Tooth Fairy

My niece, Bryn is very weary of the tooth fairy.  She has now lost 2 teeth and has yet to leave a single one for this so-called fairy to break into her room at night and 'steal'... even with the prospect of cold hard cash.  There ain't no way this little girl believes it for a second. ;)  I came across the "office of the tooth fairy" website today (via ohdeedoh) and sent it along to her momma, in hopes that their "official" stance on the fairy's job and the fact that you need a kit to get proper payment for your well-earned lost tooth, will help convince her to leave the 2 that are about to fall out any day!

A scheduler's dream!

http://www.doodle.com/main.html I just came across this and it is AWESOME.  Sometimes it is really tricky to coordinate a "good time" for everyone.  I love getting our friends together, but it can be so tedious to make all the calls back and forth to find a time that works for everyone.  This little gadget allows you to set up a question, set up parameters (like dates or times) and then everyone you email can answer "yes" or "no" and it creates this easy to read little grid that tells you exactly what is going to work.  COOL!  Signed, ME {lv}

The coolest blog!

The Little Travelers is one of my favorite new blogs.  It documents the travel adventures of a family (the mom is a documentary filmmaker), and the two young children.  I absolutely love that they are going to exotic places, like Iran and Dubai.  What an amazing experience for their children.  What is really fun is that the children have a blog within the blog, and they post their own little tidbits and pictures (all from the perspective of little ones).  Check it out!  Signed, ME {lv}

{CA}'s New Year's Resolution...

It seems that {LV} and I are getting a head-start this year. ;)  My resolution is to be more organized... to not let the mail pile up on the kitchen table, to not let my crafty closet get out of hand (inhibiting any sort of craftiness to happen) and especially to strive for my closet to look like this...

       

I never realized how much I absolutely hate my closet (despite my recent efforts to clean-out and reorganize) until I saw Nicole Balch's work of art!  How lovely would it be to get dressed every morning with that closet!  (her blog, 'making it lovely' is one of my new faves!)  So the spring cleaning will start ASAP... and a trip to ikea I think will be a must, right after all the snow melts in Portland, that is.  signed, me {CA} 

JibJab Ecards & Happy Friday!

So I've decided that this is my last Christmas to be an absolute slacker... the hubby and I are sending a very nice group gift to each side of our family and then we're done.  We may even just exchange kisses on Christmas day and bask in the joy of a relaxing, non-whirlwind, day off.  With that said... I may have to make up for some of my slack by putting together one of these hilarious JibJab Ecards.  I just got this one in my inbox from a friend back home, it was too cute!  She plugged in pics of herself, her hubby, and their three dogs and then Jib Jab animates a snowball fight greeting card (one of many cards to choose from).  Looks super easy and is sure to send a smile across the internet. ;)  Enjoy the weekend everyone!  signed, me {CA}
