Idea for your child's first b-day!

I was just writing a customer tonight about this (she had mentioned she had a 7 month old son), and I thought I would blog about it because it is a great thing for new mommies who will have a baby b-day coming up!  Someone gave me the idea when my first was born and it has been lovely.  I bought a beautiful handbound journal with a lovely quote inside and then stamped their birthdate.   In the journals, on their birthdays, I write about to them, about them at that age.  I just write about all the little delights that make up that age....what they like to eat, what words they are saying, everything I love and want to remember (and lets face it, some of it I may forget unwittingly so writing it is a good thing).  My daughter is only 4, but I've already taken a moment to look back on her first and second birthdays and read things that made made me smile like how she pronouced "mac-and-cheese" and liked to sit on the kitty.   It makes it easy for me that it is once and year (manageable) and it's on their birthday, so I'm not likely to forget the date!  Anyway, thought I would pass the little idea along, it has been fun for me!  Signed, ME {LV}
