O.K. ladies...my tidbits continue....
Isda: Isda definitely did some strong pieces...her color pallet was very neutral, with lots of brown and grey, but then there were pops of a really pretty "spiced wine" and "berry". I was surprised there weren't more jackets from her actually, but some of the sweaters were really lovely and she did some great trousers. I would say the collection overall wasn't the strongest I've ever seen Isda, but I really thought the sweaters were great and people will be excited!
Beth Bowley: Many of you know we have sometimes carried a good amount of Beth, and sometimes nothing. When I saw Beth's fall 2007 collection though I got EXCITED to carry a LOT! She did some amazing novelty tweed jackets, and this faux fur leopard jacket that was so incredibly fun. She also did sweaters that were really amazing, and two dresses that I fell in love with instantly. This fall is definitely a Beth Bowley resurrection, I think the collection looks as good as I've ever seen it!
Central Park West: We didn't order any last fall because we weren't inspired. This time, I was inspired. The cashmere looked great, the prices seemed really fabulous, and there were some fun little knitted coats (in the shorter, quasi-swing jacket silhouette) that I thought were adorable, and a GREAT price. Definitely a designer to watch for, they did sweaters that you will want for sure!!
LinQ: We've never carried this designer, but some of you will recognize the name because they've gotten a ton of press lately. I saw the collection for the first time and really loved it. The designs are simple, cotton and cotton blended shirts and tees, with great detailing. Almost everything has an edging of raw silk along the hemliness, and they do neat seam detailing. Basically they've created shirts that are comfortable like tees, but more polished, and some styles could even be worn for work. Keep a look out, you'll notice the name in magazines now that you've seen it!
More soon....
