I'm just pondering today how important it is to pay attention to your fashion "eye". I was with a friend this weekend, who as we went to lunch, I gave the "once over" and declared, "you look great!?" Her reply...."My shirt is from Target." Her jeans were Citizens, her bag Coach, and her shoes great boots.....so she pulled off an inexpensive top and no one was the wiser. Sure, the top wouldn't last but for a handful of wearings, but that was o.k....it was "disposable" and she knew that--embraced it in fact. I'm a huge advocate of making sure you have great, well made foundational pieces, but there are times when pulling in something inexpensive and something that you know will last one season and one season alone (if that) is just fine and dandy. Lets face it, most of us can't afford to have an all designer closet, much as we'd like to. Mixing and matching is a great way to let your nice pieces pull together pieces that aren't as special (or as expensive). Signed, ME {LV}
