You may have notice the wide leg jean cropping up more and more...right along side the straight leg jean and even the straggler skinny jean (although this was a hot trend, it was hard to wear and definitely burned out fast since the majority of us couldn't pull it off). The wide leg jean though, friend of the early century starlet and current trend setters, is big and now those of us who just adjusted to slimmer, now get to adust to wider. I have to say though, I ADORE this style. #1, it is much easier to wear then the slim leg jean for most people. #2, the rise is higher on these styles (praise the lord), and #3 It is nice to have a breather and be able to do "sexy" without skin tight from top to bottom. Let me ease the minds of some of you who are imagining miles of fabric, stiff denim and drowning in a pair of "hippy" jeans. Take for example the Seven for all Mankind Ginger Jean, these have wide legs but with a very SOFT lighter weight denim so they flow and move with you. Think chic vs. hippy. They still have some shape at the waist, hips and butt so you are aren't wearing a baggy style--they really are quite comfortable and flattering. With a pair of heels a shorter person could still pull this look off (the woman in the photo can't be taller than 5'4" if I recall correctly)! Personally, I'm ready for a slightly slouchy relaxed pair of jeans. My sister bought the Seven flip flop jeans awhile back and intentionally bought them a little roomy--wears them with a belt, flip flops and a great fitted tee and they look GREAT--relaxed and sporty. Nice to know we can still show off our figure and not "pour" ourselves into our jeans! Signed, ME {lv}
