It is late at night that I often work, and tonight as I sit here with my laptop I flipped through the television channels to find my all time favorite movie on, Out of Africa. I've seen it so many times I've lost count, and every time I see it I'm reminded how much I love it. The movie came out in 1985 and was based on a memoir by Isak Dinesen. Baroness Blixen is the main character of course, played by the eternally lovely Meryl Streep. I've long considered her charcter in the movie as my style icon. She always looks perfect, in a polished yet comfortable way. It doesn't matter if she is working on her farm, or camping around the Kenya countryside, she always wore her gorgeous tall boots, beautiful white linens, long jackets with clean lines, and an air of confidence and determination. If I had to pick a "look" and a place to be in my dreams it would be this character and in this incredibly beautiful setting. Signed, ME {lv}, avoiding work and watching the same movie for the 500th time.
Oh my gosh! I love that movie too! Not only are her outfits great....but also her house. I love the furniture and the beautiful bed linens and stuff. The scenes with Robert Redford are hot too!!! :) It is one of the classics in my book.
