“Inspiration exists, but it has to find us working.”
The above quote I found in a Pottery Barn tonight...flipping through the catalog, and I really liked it. I'm trying to get my office organized and set up in such a way that I feel inspired when I'm in it and I feel creative. I'm very visual, so it didn't work for me to have all my fabric, craft and "stuff" put away in boxes and drawers...I need them out so I can be inspired, and "work" on inspiring myself. I'm trying to strike that balance between " clutter", and visual stimulus and it is tricky. I loved this quote though because it reminds me that you have to surround yourself with an environment that inspires inspiration...to me that is the "working" part, because when you are surrounded by it your mind starts working on its own and the creative stuff starts to flow. I'm not sure it matters what your outlet is, as long as you have a sanctuary in which to do it and be inspired but you have to have a place to do it or your mind can't work on it.
Of course reading the quote I got off track and started thinking about how many Picasso quotes I like so I did a quick search on the internet and found a few more to share..... Signed, ME {lv}
“Each second we live is a new and unique moment of the universe, a moment that will never be again. And what do we teach our children? We teach them that two and two make four, and that Paris is the capital of France. When will we also teach them what they are? We should say to each of them: Do you know what you are? You are a marvel. You are unique. In all the years that have passed, there has never been another child like you. Your legs, your arms, your clever fingers, the way you move. You may become a Shakespeare, a Michelangelo, a Beethoven. You have the capacity for anything. Yes, you are a marvel. And when you grow up, can you then harm another who is, like you, a marvel? You must work, we must all work, to make the world worthy of its children.”
