Random note about Christmas stockings....

I am doing an entry on this because randomly I flipped through a catalog that came in the mail today and it had a Christmas section that showed a mantel with stockings.  This may be something that everyone else knows...but in the event that someone doesn't know it I'm passing on what I didn't realize last year.  I had stockings up on my mantel, hung from these cute Pottery Barn stocking hangers.  My brother-in-law came over one day, he is an ER doctor, and he pointed out that every season he sees a bunch of serious head injuries from kids and/or toddlers pulling stockings down and those holders falling on their heads.  I'm not sure why it never occurred to me....after he told me that I realized that it could happen very easily and those holders are heavy, have pointed edges and could do some serious damage, and the stockings hang low enough for kids to reach for them with a little wrangling.  Anyway, hopefully I don't just sound like a moron for admitting I didn't realize these weren't a good idea with kids......but in case you are a moron like me :-), get rid of those stocking holders unless they are screwed down!  Signed, ME {lv}
