So, thought I would finish up my spring apparel market info which I left hanging last week! Generally speaking, spring was pretty "mellow". By this I mean that I didn't see any super strong trends, it seemed like everything was a toned down extension of the styles from the past year (there were less of each of those trends, but still a fairly strong presence). Wide leg jeans were very strong, but I also still saw a lot of straight legged jeans (the skinny jeans were definitely back-burner). There were still a strong showing of tunic length tops, and empire and/or babydoll styles tops. I didn't feel like there was one particular clothing item I saw stronger than others (ie last year it was all about the dress, this year I didn't feel like anything jumped out again and again). There were quite a few longer style dress (almost floor length)--the casual variety. I did feel like it was a very 'wearable' season....lots of pretty colors, and easy styles, nothing too difficult to pull off or over-the-top trendy. I wish I had seen more skirts in general, but there was a good showing of dresses.
We'll see how later spring developes (summer etc.), I go back to LA in January and who knows what we'll see :-)! Right now we're ordered through March, but we've still got some key months after that to see and maybe that will get more spicey!
