papier couture

I just read about this on one of my favorite blogs, housemartin (I really can't wait until she opens her retail store ink & peat in Portland this spring!) She just wrote about this amazing art collection of handmade paper couture dresses by Portland artist, Lia Griffith.  Lia's delightful creations debuted in a runway show in 2006 and are now going to be broadcasted by Oregon Public Broadcasting. Her work is truly amazing and at first glance you might not even think her couture dresses are really made entirely of paper!
