Would you look at these cute sassy shoes that I just received from my dear friend as a gift for no good reason (the best kind of gift). ADORABLE yes, and magical too. Why you say? They floated me through my day, no easy feat for my feet. Looked like this....
1) Got up, dressed, sort-of-fed the kids, and was out the door by 10:00 a.m. (in my cute new shoes and a pair of Citizen bermudas that I stole from my sister who was smart enough to buy them last year)! I was in and out of Naarjie in no time (great kids clothing store), managed to get an outfit exchanged and not incur any other damage.
2) Went to Pottery Barn to look for outdoor chair cushions. Found none, but did find a very cool weekly family organizer, and a duvet cover that I bought and subsequently have realized it doesn't look good in my guest room. Survived the children verbally assaulting the salesperson with all kinds of annoying stuff, including, "guess my name, it has two A's and one V in it". Gia was in her stroller being pushed by Lulu who amazingly didn't knock over any glass as she played speed racer. Wow.
3) Next hit up Cost Plus looking for the elusive outdoor chair cushions. Here is where it got dodgy, Ava hit Lulu HARD multi times in a sibling pummel and her "going to lunch" plan was revoked. Tears, and begging ensured. Survived that, and managed to still walk out with a new outdoor table umbrella. We're all starving, but can't go to lunch.
4) Trader Joe's next, where I loaded up the cart even though I only went in for two new orchids for the mantel. Note to self, never shop when you are hungry. Kids were o.k., and only asked for a second piece of pie sampler 30 times.
5) Home to drop off the loot, eat lunch, set up new umbrella, confirm duvet sucked, and then it was time to reload the kids and head out.
6) Costco next. Yes, here is where you truly start to realize my shoes were magic. With Gia on my back, and the two kids in the cart we navigated the Costco waters nicely. Normally I don't like to go in unsupervised to this mega store because I've been known to walk out with cases of random things we have for years (like the 12 pack of canned garbonzo beans bought last year that we still have). Today however I filled the cart in 30 minutes, all while shoveling samples into the kids (the only one they declined was the seafood somethingorother). The cart was so heavy I had to put some serious muscle into getting it to the checkout--I had to bend in at a 45% angle to get lift-off. At one point a man looked at me and said, "you are brave"....and I said, "don't I know it" and he said, "NO, seriously, you are brave." Listen man, it is the shoes.
7) Last but not least, a quick trip into the grocery store on the way home to pick up dinner stuff and baby food. No major mishaps.
All this, and my feet felt great. It might be that I need to buy more Louboutin shoes :-). Signed, ME {lv}
