We decided to do a modern flora & fauna theme in the shop for fall, I'm really excited for the transition from our spring butterflies. Something about the pacific northwest makes me think about nature's beauty constantly.... maybe it's the terrarium-like weather, the gorgeous mountains in the distance, or maybe it's the herd of deer in my backyard! Yesterday evening I was treated to some live 'discovery channel' entertainment, 7 deer in my yard - 2 females, 1 momma, 2 bambies, and 2 young bucks. Some would think this is utterly annoying, but we have nothing but thistle in the yard so they can't do any damage. It was amazing to watch them interact, I saw the babes nursing, a game of chase, and the 2 bucks butting heads...
Do you see their spots!? It doesn't get any cuter than that!
True inspiration, right in my own backyard. :) signed, me {CA}
yes..this Oregon on any given day there are always deer in the yard lounging under the fruit trees...never has a day gone without seeing deer in herds. We just keep the garden fenced and they eat the fruit from the trees and all the flowers and shrubs. I hope this year we will see some figs because the deer love figs!!!
