Eileen Fisher has an enormous line, as most of you EF fans know. If you’ve been a follower for years you are probably like me, looking to add really standout pieces to your wardrobe, and occasionally freshen up your basics. So let me break down the standout pieces as I saw it! I loved everything that we are getting in, but to avoid a novel, I’ll slice this down to the really key pieces.
August
Crystalline Silk Shibori U-Neck Tank: EF doesn’t do prints, or patterns, or washes. So this is a treat…..and I love that it can roll solo, or layer under a simple cardigan or suit jacket. It’s silk too…and I love the luxuriousness of silk!
Waxed Stretch Twill Stand Collar Zip Front Jacket: It’s the kind of in-between jacket that you’d wear a lot in the fall, warmer winter days and spring…motorcycle inspired perhaps, but really mellow. Nice detailing, and the waxed twill was a really neat fabric.
Reversible Cotton Nylon Sheen Knee Length Coat: A seriously cool idea…I love the reversible part (it’s smoke & black), and I thinks is a GREAT jacket.
Ultrafine Merino Long Cardigan: A very classic EF silhouette…I think this is a great lightweight knit, that provides the perfect level of warmth…and the absinthe color is amazing!
Airy Alpaca Crimp Scoop Neck Bracelet Sleeve Box Top: It was spendy I thought ($278), but it’s really gorgeous, and worth the money. The peridot color is rich and striking, and made this a “wow” standout piece.September
I had some serious LOVES in this group….
Viscose Stretch Ponte Skinny Ankle Zip Pant: We’ve always loved that viscose stretch fabric, and this skinny silhouette with the zipper is cool. I love how the zipper is longer than the zipper’s of those ‘80’s pants we all remember…it makes the zipper more of a statement then a sidebar. An updated classic.
Supersoft Yak & Merino Ombre Stripe Poncho: Poncho’s are such an easy way to wear as an alternative to a sweater or light jacket. The ombre affect is fantastic, this is a great piece with jeans, but I think you could wear it with a black pencil skirt, over a white button down to work!
Lightweight Boiled Wool with Leather Trim Asymmetrical Zip Jacket: A-MAZING. It’s smart looking, expensive looking (because it is, $538), substantial, has leather detailing which is just cool…it’s a lusty, save your $’s, piece.
Felted Merino Lambswool Funnel Neck Raglan Sleeve Cardigan: More jacket like than just a cardigan. The silhouette is very hip, and relaxed and easy to wear…a super wide dolman sleeve, with big funnel neck—it’s an oversized piece that would be perfect over a long slim top and skinny jeans.
Silk Crepe De Chine Classic Collar Long Shirt: This might slip by your radar at first because it takes some creativity to utilize it in all the fun and funky ways possible. It’s a classic silhouette, button front, longer in the back than the front…and sheer. It can be dressy, warn more casual-meets-luxurious. I love it under a vest (there is an amazing EF vest in the October shipment that is beautiful with it)
October
This group had the cashmere…and everyone knows that I have a soft spot for cashmere.
Fine Gauge Cashmere ballet neck top & the turtleneck ponch: Well, they are yummy, so that’s that. Both gorgeous, really hard to pick a favorite.
Merino Jersey V-Neck Elbow Sleeve Belted Box Top: This was a brand new silhouette for EF, and I really think it is fun…plus the rainsonette color is amazing. I like that you can wear a long sleeve layering tee under it—gives it a different look.
Finer Merino Jersey Scoop Neck Dolman Sleeve Box Top: This one is special because from the back it has a sort of surplice cross over (resulting in a key hole opening). It’s different—and has a little bit of sexiness to it, but is still an easy style to wear.
Bias Twisted Wool Bateau Neck Long Top & 29” Calf Length A-Line Skirt: I was CRAZY about both of these. It’s a melanged charcoal, and the fabric/cut etc. just all do exactly the right thing. Both are GREAT pieces. I can envision this skirt with my black boots as a uniform this winter.
Viscose Stretch Ponte With Boiled Wool Asymmetrical Vest: Sharp….really sharp. Love it over a white crisp button down…also love it over the crepe de chin EF button front tunic. Totally different then any EF piece you have.
