Anni Kuan, one of my favorite designers so it seems appropriate to start with her...plus her name starts with A :-).
The Editorial Editions will be short bits and editorials on the linesheets you'll find in our Season Planner, so you can get the inside scoop on what and why we ordered these particular delicious fall styles!
AK JULY: This group is official "en route"...and I can't wait.
Silk Combo Shell: I ordered this in two colors because I think it's a really great layering piece, that doubles as a sexy evening out top. The fit is fantastic. The front is a stretch silk, the back is a contrasting stretch rayon blend. It has a tie neckline which gives it a demure feel, but the bare arms and sensual fabric make it racey. The teal is deep and rich, and I felt like black was such a key basic it was a must have.
Tunic Cardigan: This is an airy, almost crochet like knit that is lacey and fun, and a really easy piece to carry from transitional months straight into fall. I love how the color shows thru the open knit, or a peek of skin. This is one of those cardigans that you can't help but wear a ton. Over the Silk Combo Shell, paired with a pencil skirt or tall boots for work. Thrown on over a tank, and worn with jeans...another great outfit.
Ruched Tee: I loved this neckline...very flattering. It's not easy to find a comfortable fitted shirt with a sophisticated neckline. Gorgeous!
Pleated Skirt: Loved the way this skirt fell, and the print/fabric was fun and rich. I think it's an easy work piece, with boots or heels, and it has enough colors in it that you can pair a ton with it!
Ruched Cardigan Combo: I'm a big fan of the dual fabric pieces that Anni does. The fit is always amazing, and the multiple fabrics gives the otherwise classic cardigan something really special. This is a piece you can wear 100 different ways for sure!
AK AUGUST:
Pleated Skirt: GREAT print...one of those standout skirts that you can wear with any classic top or sweater. This is a special piece.
Slim Silk Shirt: Love that it has stretch, and the cuffs are fantastic. It's all about the fit on this, and the classic color makes it a staple.
Samauri Vest: I thought the color was great, and this Japanese knit feels wonderful. This vest will transform a white blouse, or black....it is something you can use to pull a work outfit together, or funk up skinny jeans and heels.
Rapu Dress: I think this is a complete and total winner. Flattering fit, wonderful color, 3/4 sleeves. It's not easy to find a fall/winter dress you can throw on as easily as this one--and still be comfortable.
Wrap Top: Did you see the cuffs on this 3/4 sleeve top? They are AWESOME. Stretch gives it a perfect fit, and I love the contrasting cuffs-cool! This is a day to evening piece. I can picture it with a fitted pencil skirt and heels for a cocktail party!
Buckle Cardigan & Pleated Skirt: I think it's really, really hard to find "soft suits" that look professional, but have possibilities. This is that suit. A beautiful fabric, soft jacket and pleated skirt...pull the pieces apart and you can wear it so many different ways. Boots, heels...ballet flats. These pieces are a blank slate, and fit fantastic. They walk that tough divide--they look youthful, but not young, professional but not stuffy.
AK SEPTEMBER
Slim Shirt: Love the contrasting placket interior, and the stretch fit. It's hard to find a beautifully tailored white shirt, and she nailed it on this one.
Ruched Cardigan: Contrasting back with stretch gives this a really great fit...and the color is fantastic. I think it would be great over the slim shirt above, or worn over a simple black dress as a pop piece.
Tunic Cardigan: Color and knit won me over. The silhouette is simple enough, and something that is so easy it finds it way into outfit after outfit. The quality of the knit made it extra special though
Wrap Dress: No big surprise....I was crazy about the subtle print, and the contrasting sleeve cuffs. I think this is a smart looking dress, that is comfortable and easy to wear. I love wearing boots and a great dress--and I love dresses that look like they will stand the test of time in my closet.
Bias Skirt: I was so in love with the print/fabric I not only ordered the dress, I ordered the skirt too. Love the stretch, love that it has print but you can wear it with anything!
Flare Dress: It's about fit here, and this incredible Italian ponte knit fabric. It hugs the right places and forgives the right places. I'm envisioning boots, a cozy cashmere scarf and you are good to go.
