I'm giving thanks for a lot of things this year. For family and friends, of course. For health and happiness, certainly. But I'm also giving thanks for the myriad of forms that beauty takes in the immediate world all around me. I'm looking closely at the things I see on my walks with my dog. I'm liftin gmy eyes from the streets to the rooftops to find pretty corners there, pretty windows, pretty chimneys. It's a magical activity, walking through your neighborhood and really looking at things. The magic of the unnoticed comes to life, and it feels like a secret between you and the world. Here are just a few of the beautiful buildings I walked past today. I'm giving thanks that Portland is filled with such beauties. And I'm giving thanks for the amazing craftsmen that built them.
