First off, let me just say, my sweet parenting moment of the day....I'm putting Romeo to bed, laying next to him and I started singing softly, the lovely and classic "Amazing Grace". As I envision our sweet son being lulled to sleep by my not so horrible voice (well, that's certainly debatable but my reasoning is that to a 4 year old maybe my voice sounded better). In a soft whisper I heard Romeo say "mommeeeee"...."mommeeeee". "Yes honey?", I paused my singing. His reply was almost inaudible, "wop winging weez"...HUH? "wop winging weez". It took me another 5 solid seconds to decode...OH, "stop singing please." OK, guess my voice does suck. I stopped singing and he was dead sleeping 4 seconds later (he's got a mild case of narcolepsy like his mom) :-).
On another note, Prairie underground holiday collection comes tomorrow and I'm super, SUPER excited because the styles are all fresh, the colors amazing (and sometimes I'm not keen on Prairie colors, I usually am wanting more--this time I loved the colors, lots of luscious jewel tones). This will be my treat for Halloween, and will give me strength to muscle thru the day filled with over stimulated, sugar-mania-induced children. Well, Prairie and wine, but between the two, I'll be fine. Amanda is officially dressing up as an undercover cop and I'm going to join her. We'll blend right in with all the other non-dressed up adults :-), except we can claim we really DO have a costume.
Happy Halloween, may your house not get TP'ed, your car not get egged, and last but not least, may you not get sick on Almond Joys and Candy Corns (I'm just saying, I'm not letting it happen to me again).
Signed, {ME}
