Happy New Year everyone, I am so excited about 2015! I feel it will be a breakthrough year in many ways, both personal and on a global front. I am personally excited about this year because I only have one resolution, and I know I can do it.
It is: To be more positive.
I know that sounds a little simplistic, but as we know, it is hard to do!!! It is far easier to be negative, and I see this all around me every day, people defaulting to anger, annoyance, even rage. I truly believe that this universe is one of energy, we are all energy, pulsing away on a molecular level, and the physics as we know them state that "like attracts like". There are serious, scientific studies that show how vibrations react to other vibrations, and believe me, it all adds up to the fact that how you think DOES matter. The mind is an incredibly powerful tool, and can be used to heal injury and illness. I am going to start healing myself this year, and try to find joy in EVERYTHING.
I know as well as anyone how impossible that seems, but I've been practicing for a couple of weeks now, and I'm ready to go. I have the usual "blocks" to happiness, believe me. I am parenting an almost-seventeen-year-old daughter for one thing, dealing with aging parent issues, and I'm officially going through menopause, darling, BUT...I am determined to find joy in it. Even menopause. I am not a Pollyanna, and I am not in denial. I am simply accepting what must be and I'm going to do everything I can to find the humor in all situations. Night sweats are kind of funny when you think about it! I mean come on, a middle aged woman doesn't have enough to deal with, she has to become some wierdly moist amphibian while she sleeps, too? Ha ha ha! Good one, Nature!
I'm serious though, I really am going to try to manifest my supreme happiness this year. 2014 was a hard one, and looking back I may have made it harder by letting it get to me as much as I did. So, my new mind frame is more along these lines: Hello world! I love you! Let's have an amazing life together, starting right now!
I read a quote recently (I can't remember who said it) that went like this: "Life begins at 40. Before that you are only doing research." That means I'm only 8 years old, what a relief!
An INCREDIBLE tool (I cannot overstate it's importance and all-around greatness) in maintaining my Joy of Life, is my newest favorite discovery: THE GREEN SMOOTHIE
I know I'm late to the green smoothie party, but better late than never, eh? I am not joking, the green smoothie is THE key to feeling amazing. And I mean AMAZING. The first sip of my morning smoothie makes my mouth tingle, my throat cry out for joy and my tummy smile. I finish the glass and I feel FULL, ENERGIZED and ready to go. No lie! These things are magical.
My husband, bless him, makes a pitcher full of green smoothies every morning and we drink it throughout the day, whenever we feel peckish. We have two small meals of protein (beans, quinoa, lentils, or tofu) at lunch and dinner, and some fruit and nuts for desert, and that's it most days. We have both lost weight, sculpted areas that have eluded sculpting for decades, and we are NEVER NEVER sick. Not a cold, not the flu, and not ONE flu shot. Drinking these power packed, refreshing smoothies improves our mood and our brain function too. And I get WAY more greens than I would by eating salad, plus there's no salad dressing, which I personally hate.
Here is a link to the most delicious and nutritious smoothies that will cut your addiction to sugar and white flour and dairy and make you look and feel 20 years younger. I sound like an infomercial, but I swear it's just something that I want to tell the world about because it is so easy and works so well!!!
So here's to a joyful, healthy and absolutely GORGEOUS NEW YEAR!!!
XOXOXO Diane ps: Here is a link to some very good advice, that follows my thoughts exactly! :)
