Bonjour, tout le monde! I want to share with you the most beautiful magazine about France called "The Good Life France". Janine Marsh is the editor and she does an incredible job compiling tons of interesting stories and features about this magical place, touring all over the country to bring us delights for the eyes and the mind. And I am so thrilled to be a part of the latest issue! Download the magazine from the link below, and on page 68 you will find the account of a fantastic adventure I had staying at the legendary "Shakespeare & Co." bookshop in the 1980's.
George Whitman owned the shop and allowed students, writers and artists to stay at the shop sometimes in exchange for work. I was on a year-abroad program in Poitiers, a medieval town about three hours south of Paris, and on one vacation my friend Lisa and I were bold enough to ask him if we could work and stay, and George said yes!
You can read about it, and see all of the amazing articles about France, complete with photos that will make you want to book a ticket today. Meanwhile here are some beautiful photos of the shop, and a fantastic obituary for George in the New York Times. He was a wonderful, unique individual who helped a lot of people along the way. A bien tot et bisoux! xoxoxo DR

Oh isn't that such a great place? I too was there in 2010. This is my little piece on my experience there: https://www.flickr.com/photos/at_nt/4910517214/in/album-72157617394864046/
