OK, here's the lowdown with this particular MOL obsession.
First, full disclosure, this was NOT a piece we initially ordered for the store. I thought it was overpriced for what it was. Felt like dropping $430 on a poncho with fringe was, well, just plain indulgent and probably not the best place to put our buying dollars. I really liked it though, and so when I was flipping thru the line sheet a few weeks ago late one night (after a couple of glasses of wine) and they had stock available in it, I decided on a whim to buy it.
I'm going to tell you, it's now my FAVORITE thing EVER. I took it on a weekend out of town and it was the very best travel buddy ever. It was like traveling with a big blanket, that didn't fall off your shoulders (like sometimes my cashmere wraps do), and that covered my ponte leggings and sheer long black tee. It's crazy soft, but heavy and luxurious feeling. The knit is stretchy and feels fantastic. It's a "poncho", but yet doesn't go over the head like you envision a poncho. It has a one toggle button at the neckline, a nice full hoody (I put that right over my head and took a snooze while flying), and then it has some fringe down the open front which gives it just the right amount of "kick". The arms are open, except for a stitch that essentially makes "arms" out of it, but effectively it looks more like a poncho.
It. Is. Awesome. Yes, now I think it's worth every penny and that is why we have it in the store, because of my new undying love for it. I think this will be my go to travel piece for sure, but running to get the kids to school in the morning...I threw it on with my jeans the other day, tall black rainboots. Easy uniform, I'll wear it all the time. There you go, don't say I never gave you the inside scoop! ;-)
