First things first. There is nothing more comforting than the love of a true sibling. Be it bloodline, or be it best friend from childhood. Today take a moment to get a card, and a real life stamp (the kind you use to send a real letter, the old fashioned thing that you actually WRITE on), and send your chosen sibling a card.
Last night, at midnight, probably about 45 mins after we had fallen asleep, John wakes up to some noise down the hall. He gets up and finds Romeo outside of the bathroom, little fist rubbing his eye, one hand down his pants (because honestly at age 6 one hand is almost always down his pants), and when John asks him what he is doing he explains that Gia is going to the bathroom and she was scared to go alone so she woke him up and he walked with her. So he stood outside that bathroom, half asleep, with nothing but pure love and sibling adoration in his little head, and waited for her to finish and then they both clomped back to their room. How sweet is that?
So, in honor of the love of our sibling, and I count in there my childhood friends that I hold in my heart as siblings, I want to take a moment today to just think of them, send them some love, and be grateful for the relationships. I also simultaneously am grateful that I can still appreciate the joy of writing a card and sending it, AND the joy of getting a card. In the digital age that seems to be a thing that is diminishing by the moment and it’s a beautiful gesture to send a thoughtful card and it feels wonderful to get one. SO DO IT!
So that’s first on our joy quest today. Second is to love on the new Siganka, which just makes me happy to look at it. It’s airy, light, beautiful….it is like wearing a piece of Hawaii sunshine. I am ready to grab up these pieces because I know that last summer some of my most loved and worn pieces were Siganka. I was brutal on them too with all the travel we did, bad washing machines, bad detergent. Everything held up to my abuse beautifully though and I’m completely hooked!!
Thirdly, I’m in love with this Anni Kuan dress. I envision it with a subtle bronze glow on my skin (which I’ll acquire solely with creams or spray tans since I’m phobic about the sun and naturally I’m super pasty), then some great Magic Mixer glow on my face (I’m addicted to this stuff), and a earthy, brown nude lipstick (which I don’t own yet but I’m going to find). I love how glowy it all looks in the sun and sparkle of summer, and I can’t wait to wear it! Shoes? That part I’m still working on. Something in a light tan leather. Strappy heels would be great, but I think I can find something amazing in a flat too since heels always end up stressing me out….I need to be able to run in case I need to make a quick get away.
