It's Monday....which means we are just days away from my favorite holiday of the year! Our call to action is to start out the week with an "attitude of gratitude" which is yes, a bit on the self-help-book-loving-annoying-bumper-sticker-phrase-side-of-life, but darn if it doesn't just sum it all up so well. There are a million things to do before Thursday, but I am starting it all out with a deep breath, and a super appreciative and grateful attitude. Plus I'm repeating the mantra from yoga yesterday, "All that is, is. Everything else isn't." I think that was the gist of it--and I think Buddha was given credit for the saying. Anyway, the upshot is that you've got to accept what is, instead of spending energy on what isn't, and then you can really embrace the moment and let go of everything else. I need constant reminders, or I get lost in the crazy of this time of year. There are so many demands, expectations and general activity that your mind can get away from you.
Random things to love today are the super adorable pumpkin marshmallow latte bath bombs that I bought for the kid's table (at Paper Source.) I know it sounds just a little gross actually, but I think the kids will like the smell and I thought they would be cute as little gifts (I also bought turkey straws....now what kid wouldn't want to drink out of a turkey straw?) I would set up the Thanksgiving table today if John wouldn't make fun of me relentlessly for needing 3 days to stage a table. I probably don't need that much time, but I'm excited.
The other good news is that we extended the Eileen Fisher event one last day, because the weekend went by in the blink of an eye and who really had time to do everything they wanted to? Now there's still time to snatch up the velvet haze EF classic collar shirt....I'm in love!
