Happy Thanksgiving all! Such a great holiday, and it’s finally here. I’m sure everyone is knee deep in prep, but if you are lucky you’ll have a few minutes to relax and slow the day down. It’s with our deepest appreciation that we thank all of our friends for their support and loyalty. Without you, we are nothing (or at least, nothing special.)
Our random thing for today are toasts---because you might be giving one today. There is nothing quite like a good toast to start a meal (or finish one for that matter.) Ever try to think of a toast on the fly? Nothing good usually results, and if you’ve already had a glass or two of wine, it’s a quick trip to disasterville. I’m partial to this sweet one: “For each new morning with its light. For rest and shelter of the night. For health and food, for love and friends. For everything Thy goodness sends.” by Ralph Waldo Emerson. It’s classic, short and sweet. It’s short enough to memorize it too, which is a bonus! There’s still time to google a good one for today…get on it.
Yoga wisdom…well, my take away from yoga last night was that this holiday can be a strange combo of happiness, love, gratitude, irritation and aggravation. For most of us the day will include a great number of family members, and even though they may be our foundation, our rocks, our joy and most important priorities…it doesn’t mean that you won’t walk into a room filled with them and become irritated in less than 20 minutes. Long term relationships (even loving ones) give way to all kinds of things, and darn if we don’t learn how to push each others buttons all too well. So, the upshot is the simple reminder to hold on to what is important to you, and let go of everything that isn’t. I’ll say it again (mostly for myself)….let go of the things that aren’t important.
We hope you have a glorious day with family, filled with love and laughter, and deep gratitude for your blessings big and small.
Signed, ME {lv}
