I feel bad singling out just Anni Kuan tops, when in fact I do love MORE than just her tops, but right now I'm going to drop some love on the tops specifically. I just tried on Anni's Urbano top, and it managed to reconfirm why Anni adorns the upper half of the bod so well. The top has the oddest tucks and angles, and when you look at it on the hanger you just aren't sure how it's all going to play out. Then you put it on and you instantly "get it". It just lays correctly, and this top (but really, all her tops) manage to be body skimming and flattering, but also forgiving and even a little relaxed. The Urbano in particular is super forgiving, but has the gorgeous wide neckline that accents the shoulders beautifully, and the middle section is almost a tad slouchy, but still sexy and body skimming. I absolutely love that I could just as easily pair it with jeans for lunch, or a pencil skirt and power heels for a "take no prisoner's" day. I try to ignore the fabric content of all her clothes, because I have a knee jerk response to anything that is, or sounds, synthetic. The truth is though, Anni is incredibly selective and isn't picking cheap synthetics, she is picking the top shelf, modern fabrics from around the world that feel amazing and travel perfectly (her jersey is a traveler's dream.) That's why I ignore the labels and I trust in what I know to be true year after year...she's got fabric dialed.
Anni is my hero and my designer girl crush. I can't wait to wear my Urbano...and the Misto and Cita are going to be mine too. They are all that perfect blend of relaxed, but polished, day-to-night tops. These are what my wardrobe needs, thank you Anni, I bow to you.
