I got my new book in the mail today, How to Do Nothing: Resisting the Attention Economy, by Jenny Odell. I saw it referenced in some article, and notably it was on Barack Obama's "favorite books of 2019" list. Has to be good, right?
So far, it's super interesting, and inspiring. I'm sucked into the attention economy like everyone else, but really it's with my teens that I really see the devil at work. They will never read this book, too philosophical and too judgmental of the status quo, so it'll be up to me to read it and try to gain some key pointers to pass on in a sly way.
Additionally, full disclosure, I also watched (and enjoyed) two of Gwyneth Paltrow's Netflix series from Goop. I heard all about psychedelic drugs and psychological break-thrus, and anti-aging diets. Truth? It sucked me in, and she takes a lot of heat but she seemed pretty cool (I'd be your friend Gwen.)
I'm excited for this week. #1, it's the last week of January #2, we've got lots of new stuff coming, #3 the kids don't have school on Monday so I'm off lunch duty and driving duty #4 I get my new vitamin supplement on Tuesday which is going to help me live forever per my new favorite scientist David A. Sinclair (Lifspan is the book he wrote). I might even reverse some of my grey hair. It's not impossible. #5, I take Saturday and Sunday off from yoga, but Monday I get to get back on the mat and I'm always ready.
Hope your Monday is amazing!

ps. I'm a little obsessed with these clips. Love how unique they are, and the colors are so pretty!! It is far better looking than my usual butterfly clip with two claws cracked off.
