Good things so far this week. Eileen Fisher and the new Olive & Loom (crazy for both). Now the new PJ Salvage which is darling. Kind of digging the love slides, these will be so fun to wear!! PJ Salvage always does really great cross-over pieces that go from lounge to sleepwear and back. Their new basic tees are awesome though, I'll be wearing these all the times (I love the easy fit.)
Other than the ray of hope with spring clothes and colors, the day was shrouded in dark clouds and nonstop rain. I mean nonstop, literally. I listened to more music than news (so fun to see everyone’s favorite musicians in the survey results), and in particular I listened to Romeo trying to strum out Pat Benatar’s “I love Rock n’ Roll” on his electric guitar. He’s been playing for two years, and it’s been a slow climb, but he’s finally getting the hang of it. His instructor is a young guy that comes to the house religiously every Tuesday with his funky nail polish and colorful streaks thru his hair--spicing up Romeo’s world with some cool music and spreading his own love of music. It’s awesome.
I did go to yoga, but I managed to come out of class feeling good but with no big takeaway...my takeaway came in the afternoon when I got a pop up on my phone from the studio’s app which said, “mid-week check in…be kinder to yourself.” I thought that was a lovely thing to get. So here's the reminder for you all, be KIND to yourself today!
I also decided today (after doing some more reading in my book) that I'm going to do some time tracking. The idea being that if you really want to get the things you want in life, you have to first be able to manage your time so you have the TIME to do the things you want to do. The book's point ws that there are all kinds of bits and pieces of your day that go by "unintentionally" that can be harnessed if you wanted to. It doesn't mean you have to make every minute productive, but it is a way to make every minute intentional so you don't "lose" time you didn't mean to lose. The challenge is to track EVERY minute of your day for 7 days. Actually sounds like a ton of work, but does sound like a really good way to find the issues with your time--where it goes, where it shouldn't go, and that type of thing. I also downloaded the app "Moment" which tracks activities on your phone. How many times you pick it up, surf the net, check emails etc. I'm sure it'll be scary to see the results. I'll keep you posted....
