Romeo spent a solid 30 minutes today laying out his sales plan for the guitar deal of the century. He outlined how for a mere $10 I could get 10 songs a day for the duration of the Coronavirus, BUT if I paid $25 I would get 10 songs a day for a year. (I'm not sure he's totally up on current events because one of those timelines seems off). There were all kinds of other deals for all budgets. For $1000 marked down to $500 I could get 10 songs a day for 10 years. When I asked him if there were any smaller packages than $10, he said for $5 I could get the national anthem played on the guitar 10 times. At one point he told her he got a text and it "looked like there was a special promo that just started on the $50 package that brought it down to $25" (I think he realized his audience had some price resistance. I ended up going with the $10 package but I made him sign a contract for the sale.
Lesson to be learned: When you love something, give it your ALL, shake your money maker, be flexible, know your crowd and be passionate. (in this case Romeo's love was his desire for Roblox video game money and his money maker was his guitar).
After nightly tuck-in was done, lights were off and kids were in bed and quiet, 5 minutes went by and I heard Romeo call out. "mommy, I think I have an idea". He said it with such reflection, such pause....as if he'd really deliberated on this and formulated something big in those 5 minutes of quiet. "I am going to brush my teeth every morning, except Saturday and Sunday". (take note cavities, weekends are now your window)
Lesson to be learned: Sometimes any plan is better than no plan because it just feels so good to make a decision.
Happy May everyone!
