Sunday has taken on a whole new vibe in quarantine life. No more frenzied "prep" where you are getting organized and gunnin' up for the crazy week ahead. Groceries, lists of things to do, carpool reminders, calendaring. I miss it and then, not so much. Now, as I hang out on a Sunday, my week looks comparatively mellow, and the roll into Monday won't nearly be as jarring as it was only a month ago.
What I AM doing is contemplating our cool new challenge for this coming week. The challenge is simple--elevate the mundane. There's no shortage of mundane stuff in our day to day lives, and much of it we sleepwalk thru. Our routines tend to be fairly simply right now, so how do we make the boring moments special, and elevate all these mundane activities to make them a little interesting?
Little things like making everyone get dressed up for dinner and putting candles on the table--all of a sudden a simple, predictable dinner becomes a little more exciting. Taking a bottle of wine and watching the sunset, putting music on while you fold the laundry (which seems like a good idea all the time, but I know I rarely do it), leaving a love note for your partner under the morning coffee cup you always pour them. It doesn't really matter what we do, but the idea is to kick it up a notch and make it a little more special, even if it's the simplest thing.
So I'm starting to think about it today, and I'm trying to come up with some good ideas to kick it off tomorrow. This will be a fun week, hope everyone is on board!
It's the last day of our Women Helping Women event and I want to thank everyone once again for supporting the event, and for collecting all your donations for delivery in the VERY near future. It's been a fun week for us, and we've loved all the support and involvement. We've supported a great cause, and we are grateful for you all supporting it with us! THANK YOU!
