I'm kicking my week off with moving in mind. Our goal is to exercise this week, sweat a little, breath deep, stretch and feel strong. We'll improve our bodies and our mental state. I can't wait because honestly, I can use a little endorphin punch right now (at least enough to get me back up to normal).
I'm also going to try to meditate this week. Pre-quarantine I utilized my yoga classes as my mediation time, but I can't get the same level of relaxation and focus from doing home classes with the kids being crazy in the background, interrupting me whenever they run out of frozen waffles or orange juice (which seems to happen ALL the time). I think my nerves are frayed and if I ever could use a boost of mediation relaxation, it's now.
I have a couple of the Satori Rue mala necklaces that I love, but truth be told, I've never actually USED them for any mediation practice (they do make nice necklaces though). However, I'm about to change that, and try doing some Metta mediation (aka loving-kindness mediation). I've never done this type, and thought it wasn't really my thing, but I did listen to a podcast on 10% Happier that has changed my view on it. If it's good enough for the skeptic Dan Harris, it's good enough for me. So my thought was to use the mala, and do a loving-kindness type chant in my head, 108 times. I mean, how could thinking 108 loving thoughts be anything but good for the soul right?
Happy Monday everyone! Do something great for your body today, even if you are dragging and your first instinct is to binge watch Money Heist while eating your weight in almond butter and jam on crackers. Uhm, not that I would know anything about such things....
