Romeo has this endearing habit. I don't know where he got it, or who taught him to do it with such vigor. If I did I would lavish them with praise, gifts and indebtedness. I have tried all types of good manner indoctrination and some have stuck, but far more haven't. Every time we eat any meal, and I mean EVERY time, Romeo thanks both John and I. Doesn't matter who made the meal, or if we made it at all (take out warrants the same thing). He stops and says, "thank you mommy for dinner (or insert lunch, breakfast etc.)". He does the same with John. Not a shout as he bolts out of the room, but a genuine, stop and look at me, makes sure I hear, type of thank you. It's amazing. At first I thought it was just a fad. Like maybe he heard some other kid do it and he was copying it. But nope, he's been doing it for probably over a year and it doesn't show signs of stopping. It never, ever gets old either. I mean NEVER. I appreciate his thanks every single time because number one it's genuine, and number two, I don't get thanked enough in general so when I do, it feels really good.
So it reminds me to share my gratitude more ritually too. Thank you all our Melange family of customers and friends, for making our world better, for supporting our business that we love, and for being overall awesome. If I said it every day it would barely be enough and it would be genuine every time.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day and takes the time to thank those around you because it never, ever gets old.
Signed, ME {lv}
