Helloooooo! It's been a while. TOOOO long! LV has been dropping many hints about how I need to blog more, she's not wrong! I love reading her blog posts, but finding something to write about is a lot harder than I ever thought it would be. Didn't realize my life was so boring! haha. I have been cleaning out boxes and going thru all of my childhood treasures, and my journal entries are pretty entertaining to read for sure! But they also all end with a promise to "write more soon", followed by a 6 month gap before I find some other dramatic, "super secret" scandal to write about again. I guess in all of these years I haven't changed too much, but should probably work on growth and change, and letting that habit go. So here goes the first of many blog posts without large gaps in between them. :)
Two things I'm recently obsessed with lately...my new treadmill and the show on Netflix Behind Her Eyes.
Okay, so the treadmill. I know I'm a little behind the curve on getting one. Feel like everyone I know and talk to has a Peleton bike or the NordicTrack treadmill, and to be honest, as they gush on and on about them, I do mostly internally roll my eyes, and assume they're only talking about how much they love it because they really don't, and they're hoping if they say it enough times it will become true. I've also always assumed that there was a good amount of regret for spending that much money on something that they don't like, but they promised their significant other that they'd use it all the time, and when they realized they hate it, but can't show that they do, they just do another ride or run in hopes of numbing the pain from the regret. I also wouldn't be completely surprised to hear if there was some secret society you had to join to have one, and everyone had to pledge to spending a certain amount of time each week talking about their workout obsession. Seems like that's all they want to talk about. haha. Well, Todd knew someone who was moving, and had bought the NordicTrack treadmill, used it once, and literally never even turned it on again. He didn't want to deal with moving it out of his place, and all of that, so was just giving it away to be rid of it. I couldn't help but feel some validation of my earlier thinking, and say, "that seems about right". So we get this treadmill (and Todd did end up paying him a discounted rate for a one time used treadmill because he felt so bad for his financial hit), and after the first workout I was absolutely HOOKED. There is no turning back, and I am NOT just saying that. No one is paying me or forcing me to say that I'm addicted. I am here under my own free will, confessing to you that I was wrong, and the NordicTrack treadmill/iFit program is amazing and it's all I want to be doing. I started out doing a hiking/walking program thru the Grand Canyon, and it was amazing! Felt like mini vacation every morning. Currently I am doing a program thru different parts of Vietnam, while it trains you to be able to run a 5k. It's so amazing and beautiful, you almost forget that you're even running! This morning I ran for 6 minutes straight with NO BREAKS, which is a huge deal for me...I am NOT a runner, by any stretch, so this was big. I'm super excited to go to bed every night because I can't wait to wake up in the morning, get my running shoes on, and bust out a workout (or 2!). It's also all I want to talk about. ;) I totally get it now, and I have to eat all my words and judgements big time. The trainer, John Peel, is super motivating and really interesting - he gives tons of facts about the towns we're in and the things we're doing, as well as about fitness. I seriously feel like I know him at this points and we're friends...I mean, that's a stretch, but I find myself wondering what he's doing throughout the day. haha.
Another thing I'm behind the times with and just getting in to is Behind Her Eyes on Netflix. Its SOOOO good. The first episode seemed a little slow, and I almost didn't keep watching it. But the preview looked a lot more intriguing, and I felt like I had to give it one more chance, so we pushed play on the second episode the next night, and halfway in I was hooked. We've only watched 2 episodes so far, but this is something I could easily sit down and not stop watching until its over. The fashion and architecture/design is so pretty to look at, too. All of it! I can't wait to see what Adele's full story is and what the deal is with her husband, because I know he's got a past, and it seems dark. I also can't help but give Louise the side eye - she doesn't seem like a friend I'd want to have! Anyways, this show seemed a little slow going at first, but now I'm sucked in. If I could just watch Behind Her Eyes, and walk on my treadmill all day, I'd be one happy camper!
Now that I'm writing all of this down, I guess I do have a third obsession right now. The new LA Made tees. I know, I know, shameless plug...but it's totally worth it. They're really that good. The fabric is so soft, and not clingy, but not too thick. I love how they're a little on the shorter side, for a chic, clean look, but not cropped at all or anything you would call "short". The sleeves aren't tight, and have actually been very flattering on the arms. I live in tee shirts in the summer, and I'm thrilled to add these into my closet. White for sure - because you can't ever have too many of those...but blue or pink or both - that is the question. Usually when I can't decide I get all 3. ;)
