I tend to be a big planner. I have fun looking ahead and getting excited for what's coming. I know that doesn't sound very "in the moment" but I do get a lot of enjoyment from thinking in the NOW about what's ahead. Planning trips, special holidays, birthdays...yep, most all of it. And if course, planning my wardrobe too - I'm always starting super early. Some people like to react spur of the moment...."oh, I need a summer dress, I'll go look for one right now." Me, I'm looking NOW for that Summer dress because those impromptu shopping trips stress me out. So it's no surprise that being in the clothing world has suited me perfectly, because it's ALL about planning and looking ahead.
Today Amanda and I went to look at FALL PJ Salvage, and FALL Lilla P.(the NW Apparel show is going on--it's small but there are still a few good designers there). Yes, that's right, FALL. Is it crazy that I can't wait to wear white linen, yet simultaneously I'm excited to wear the fuzzy PJ Salvage olive green vest that comes in September? Wish I had taken a picture of that vest, it's seriously adorable (this is the little drawing from the line sheet to the right, but imagine something super soft and cuddle-icious). I love our PJ Salvage rep, she's
absolutely hysterical and isn't fake or salesperson-y at all. We can also manage to slip in all kinds of fun topics while still getting thru the huge line....like what bio-identicals she's taking, and the latest on what her son is doing (I met her son when he was probably 9 and she came to my house because she was on the road with her lines and I think I was probably pregnant or had a newborn, so she came to me instead of me seeing her at a show). That 9 year old son is now 25 and works in LA. Nothing like those numbers to make you feel old right?
We also found a few other nuggets of goodness today (new designers that we really liked), so that was fun.
I hit all elevator buttons with my elbow, and adhered to social distancing. Just kidding, I didn't really adhere to social distancing, but I did use my elbow to touch the elevator buttons but to be fair, I kind of do that all the time because those things are SO dirty. No, I'm still working hard to do the opposite of freaking out....instead, I'm just being my normal level of crazy. Here's to having a happy, and freakout-free week.
